Putting it all together, and trusting someone to do so can be a tall task. After all, when it comes to props, costumes, flags, artwork, tarps, and music, that can be daunting even before you have to think about how it is all supposed to come together in a cohesive way. The best feeling I get is when I hear spectators rave about the artwork, props, and costumes of my groups.
I work closely with industry professionals to make my ensembles stand out every year so my clients don’t have to. The companies and artists I work with know just where to start, develop, and finish your ideas on time and on budget. Be it props, vinyl prints, flags, costumes, or more, I have you covered.
In recent years, my custom and collaborative show designs have competed against, and beaten bands that hire some of the biggest names in the activity. Even on a fraction of the budget. I’ve accomplished this by prioritizing one thing: dreaming bigger. Let’s dream big together on your next show.
what does programming entail?
“Program Coordination” is a phrase that every band director has heard but feels like everyone has a different expectation and definition of. My most successful shows have always come in the form of collaborating with teams of stakeholders, finding the right show for them, and managing the tasks (in-house or outsourcing) to create something 100% unique to your program. Each program is unique, but every program needs a well thought out and invested production. I provide any of the following based on what your program needs and budget:
- Show Concept Creation and Development – THE BIG PICTURE
*Conceive your idea and have it fit to your strengths and specifications, including source materials and big picture ideas with the goal in mind for your group to stand out in the best way imaginable*
- Show Scripting and Storyboarding – THE MARCHING BAND DETAILS
Create documents that inform your music arrangers and other designers what marching band ideas are to be written to and when. Taking the guess work out and speaking the language of the activity from the start. Includes visual intent for your drill designer, prop interactions and developments and color guard notes.
My scripts start with music. I believe that the more cohesive your musical product, the jobs of the other designers becomes easier. My unique style invests in how the audience can interact with the music in all the interpretations of ‘effect’.
Need a winds/percussion arranger or sound engineer? I have a network of arrangers and specialists that have had experience executing my programs that make the musical program come to life, and we’re only getting better at it
- Costume – Uniform – Flag – Prop Design – THE IDENTITY
Coordinate with graphic designers to come up with a unique visual identity for the production as it pertains to the journey and arc of the show. I work with a team of trusted printers and designers in the activity to ensure you get your materials in a timely fashion without paying over the top prices
- Prop Construction and Engineering – THE FLAIR
Working within your programs budget, I help your team navigate prop construction and engineering for your show. Ensuring that your ideas are scaled appropriately and leave a lasting impression on your audience
